Explore the Abu Simbel Temples
Begin your incredible journey with a visit to the iconic Abu Simbel Temples, situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan, near the Sudanese border.

• These two grand temples were built by Pharaoh Ramses II around 1255 BC. The larger temple, adorned with four colossal statues of Ramses II, is dedicated to three major Egyptian deities.
• The smaller temple is a tribute to Hathor, the goddess of love and joy, and features exquisite statues of Ramses II’s beloved wife, Queen Nefertari.

Rediscovered over 200 years ago, these temples stand as a testament to Egypt’s remarkable ancient history.

Return to Aswan
After exploring Abu Simbel, take a domestic flight back to Aswan.

Discover Aswan’s Treasures
Upon arrival, your Egyptologist guide will lead you to explore the city’s highlights:

1. 1. Philae Temple:
      Dedicated to the goddess Isis, this temple narrates the legendary tale of Isis, Osiris, and Horus. Originally built during the Ptolemaic period, the temple was relocated to Agilika Island to protect it from flooding after the construction of the High Dam.

   2. The High Dam:
      Witness this engineering marvel built to control the Nile's floods and provide electricity. Completed in 1968, the dam stands 111 meters tall and stretches 3,830 meters in length, with a base width of 980 meters. Its spillway can discharge up to 11,000 cubic meters of water per second.

Optional Felucca Ride
Enjoy a scenic ride on a traditional felucca sailboat along the Nile, gliding around Aga Khan and Elephantine Islands. (Note: This activity is not included in the tour package).   

Return to Cairo
